Ingredients:
- 1x320g sheet of shop-bought puff pastry
- 8 tsp jam of your choice
- 1 egg, whisked
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 6.
- Unroll your sheets of puff pastry. Cut the sheet of pastry into 8 even rectangles.
- Using a small heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut a piece of pastry from the centre of the right side of each rectangle. Set the excess pastry aside.
- Add a tsp of jam to the centre of the left side of each rectangle. Fold the right side of the pastry back over the left and use a fork to press all edges but the edge above the heart together.
- Use a knife to draw a line from the top two corners of to the top of the heart taking are not to cut through the pastry.
- Lightly brush each pastry with egg wash and bake for 15 minutes until the pastry is golden and cooked through. Sift icing sugar on top to serve.
