Ingredients:
- For the rice Krispies treats
- 140g unsalted butter
- Pinch of salt
- 250g Rice Krispies
- 250g marshmallows
- 100g white chocolate
- To decorate
- 250g white chocolate, melted
- 2 drops of green food colouring
- Edible Googly eyes
- 150g dark chocolate, melted
- Chocolate sprinkles, optional
Method:
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter on low heat and then add the white chocolate. Stir until melted. Add the marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted.
- Put the Rice Krispies in a large mixing bowl and pour the marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies. Stir until well combined and the cereal is evenly coated.
- Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking tray with butter and parchment paper. Evenly press the mix into the tray. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to harden.
- Use a sharp knife and cut the treats into 10 evenly sized rectangular pieces.
- To decorate, first add a drop of green food colouring to the melted white chocolate and stir to combine. If you want it a little darker, add another drop and mix again. Next, coat the treats in melted green chocolate. Dip the treats, one by one, into the green mix, allowing the
- chocolate to reach halfway up the treat. Set the treats onto a lined baking tray, add googly eyes and pop them into the fridge to chill.
- Once set, you can add the hair. Dip each treat into the melted dark chocolate, ensuring just the top of the treat is coated. Again, set each one onto the lined baking tray, and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles if using.
- Add the remaining melted dark chocolate to a sandwich bag, roll it up like a piping bag, and snip a tiny hole in one of the corners. Use this to draw mouths and scars onto the monsters. Allow to set at room temperature before enjoying.
