- 150ml soy sauce
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 5 tbsp honey
- 4 salmon darnes, cut into bite-sized cubes (roughly 1 inch cubes)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 spring onions, peeled and chopped diagonally
- Fresh chilli, chopped diagonally and seeds removed
1. To make the marinade, add the soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, chilli flakes and sesame seeds to a large bowl and stir to combine.
2. Add the salmon to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
3. Add the oil to a large pan over medium heat. Pour in the marinade, add the honey and sesame seeds. Cook until bubbling and it starts to thicken. Add the salmon and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
4. Transfer the salmon bites to a serving platter and garnish with spring onions, chilli and sesame seeds. Insert skewers into each salmon bite and enjoy hot or cold as a delicious canapé.
Top tip: You can prepare the salmon a day in advance allowing it to marinade in an airtight container in the fridge overnight.
