Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp cold butter
- Black pepper
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- To serve:
- Wilted spinach
- Baked potatoes
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 x 170g sirloin steaks
Method:
- Add the oil to a heavy frying pan over a high heat and season the steaks with black pepper. When the pan begins to smoke, add the steak and cook for 1-2 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your liking. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
- Add the garlic to the pan and cook for 10 seconds, then add the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer, then remove from the heat and stir in the butter. Spoon over the steak and serve with wilted spinach and baked potatoes.
